The North East Retro Gaming (NERG) event is returning to Gateshead at the beginning of July, bringing over a hundred arcade classics to retro gamers to play for free.
The North East Retro Gaming event is running on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd July at the Gateshead International Stadium. NERG is in its fifth year, and is a huge event for gamers and retro game enthusiasts who can play a variety of arcade classics, pinball machines and console games.
You can purchase adult or child tickets for either day or the weekend, and there are no additional charges for playing the games. At the end of the weekend you can even purchase the arcade machines that you just can't drag yourself away from (although not all of the machines will be for sale).
The arcade games include Space Invaders, Pacman, Star Wars, Kung Fu Master, Burger Time and Defender, on top of a ton of pinball games and console games on systems like the Sega Dreamcast, the Sega Saturn, the Nintendo Gamecube and the Atari Jaguar.
As well as all the retro gaming fun, traders will be attending the event selling various games, gaming merchandise and all manner of nerdy paraphernalia. The event has been a huge success in previous years, and is definitely a must for gaming fans.
