Originally Transcendit’s directors had all worked for a much larger IT company. Adam says, ‘The business was so big that effective communication between departments and customers was really difficult. We wanted to forge working relationships with every client, but there just wasn't enough time in the day. We wanted to do things a little differently.'
Dick, Lee, Tom, Adam and Dave (from left to right on the picture above, September 2000) eventually decided to leave, and start a business of their own. Initially the company was going to be called ‘Transcend I.T.’ but according to Adam, ‘We had to abandon that because of the acronym it would have resulted in.’
‘The name for our company came about because we liked the word ‘transcend'. We wanted to exceed the expectations of our customers. To go beyond selling the technology, and really look at what was in it for the customer and their business,’ says Adam.
Many years later, Transcendit's support technicians and web developers provide a wide range of IT services to clients all over the country. The company also holds a Microsoft Gold Partner Accreditation.
‘Transcendit is different because we don’t try to “sell” to people,' says Adam, 'We just try to find the best solutions for their business.’
“We don’t want to become faceless. We always want to keep that personal touch, and the quality that comes with it.”
